DENTAL NURSE SUCCESSES

SUCCESSFUL DENTAL NURSES

SmileWisdom Alumni celebrates Hudo

Meet Hudo who joined a dental nursing course to help people

“It was a dentist who encouraged me to pursue a career in dental nursing after meeting me during an appointment. I was with my sister and I sort of collaborated with the dentist so that he was able to treat my sister who is special needs.

I have always naturally been interested in work that helps people, so this was an exciting new direction for me.

“When it comes to finding a trainee dental nurse job my advice is to try your luck. Walk into local dental practices – what do you have to lose? I went to my nearest practice, chatted for a bit and then asked if they had a job. I was hired on the spot! “

I really enjoyed the location of SmileWisdom Academy. Before the pandemic lessons took place at the BDA – it was an environment catered to dentistry which is so much better than being at a generic college.

The SmileWisdom team is brilliant. The team reach out to you and don’t give up on students. They are so supportive and created a supportive network amongst us students so that we could stay connected as classmates. You don’t feel alone because you’re able to easily keep in touch even though we aren’t meeting because  ofthe lockdown.

When it comes to finding a trainee dental nurse job my advice is to try your luck. Walk into local dental practices – what do you have to lose? The SmileWisdom team give a lot of support, don’t give up!

When the pandemic started it was so easy to lose focus on the course. If it wasn’t for the team I wouldn’t have made it through. They encouraged me and pushed me along. SmileWisdom is brilliant and I’ve already recommended a friend. Dental nursing is not a stressful career, but it is rewarding and you gets lots of knowledge that you can also take home such as better oral health habits for you and your loved ones.
